Committee Goals
By August 2007:
- Develop or adopt programming standards for commonly used programming languages while allowing for flexibility and creativity.
- Document programming standards and make them available to all users
- Establish a process to enforce the use of standards
- Establish a process to review and modify standards to keep up with industry changes

Methodology
The methodology we will use is below. The committee is currently identifying any standards currently in place and researching exsting industry standards.
- Identify commonly used languages
- For each language identified:
- Identify any standards currently in place
- Research existing industry standards
- Compare standards
- Decide if we want to adopt an existing standard, develop our own standards, or blend
- Document the standard and make it accessible to all users
- Train users as needed
- Come up with way to enforce standards for new code and modifications to existing code
- Periodically review and update standards based on user feedback and industry changes
